My name is Jennifer Belanger and I am a Registered Dietitian (RD) based in Belchertown, Massachusetts. I believe that food and nutrition should be easy and fun! What is a Registered Dietitian?

An RD is a food and nutrition expert. RDs are extensively trained to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy. The education and guidance you will get from an RD is evidence based and scientifically proven via rigorous research studies. RDs have, at minimum, a Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition from an accredited university, and have passed a national exam to obtain the highly coveted RD credential. RDs must also obtain continuing education credits and maintain a professional development portfolio to stay abreast of the new research and science in the field. With so much misinformation available online, on the news, and from your family and friends, it's very easy to get confused. Keto? Atkins? Paleo? Intermittent Fasting? Where do you begin? Nutrition is not a "one size fits all" discipline. My approach to nutrition is simple and realistic. I emphasize the importance of "back to basics," focusing on balance, variety, moderation, and fun!
